Résumé

Computer Science Engineer (1993; ``IBM Spain'' award as the best track record at the end of the first 3-year cycle, and ``José Riera'' prize as the best record in 1992. The first Computing Engineer by the University of Oviedo) and Ph.D. (2002). I worked for 7 years at the Research and Development department of Seresco, a medium-sized software development company, participating in different projects (communications, development environments/dialog editors, document viewers, graphics...) mostly designing and developing productivity tools for the other developers or components to be deployed as part of the company's runtime platform. In 2000 I applied for a position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing Science of the University of Oviedo, where I worked until november 2005. Since december 2005, I work as an IT analyst for the Asturian Parliament, while I continue working for the University part-time.

As a result of my research I've published more than fifty articles (papers, book parts) and I've collaborated in several research projects related to software development. My Ph.D. thesis topic was the static verification of the combination of software components, using specifications written in firs-order logic predicates. My current research is focused mainly on teaching improvement.

My teaching activities, to which I give great importance, are also focused on informatics, and I've taken part in several funded projects on teaching improvement. I'm an IEEE member, Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Oviedo, and I've been the Vice-Dean of the Professional Association of Computer Science Engineers of Asturias, and Vice-Dean of the Computer Sience School of the University of Oviedo (at Oviedo). I've also acted as an expert witness in lawsuits. Languages: English, French, Spanish, Asturian.
